I been away for a bit addicted to my rhythm games as of late. I been playing DDR: Hottest Party, Guitar Hero 3 as of late. These games might seem easy on the outside looking in but in vice versa it's really not at first. lol I did finally get the hang of

DDR: HP

DDR(Dance Dance Revolution) and getting better at it the more I practice. You can turn off the gimmiks and the hand motion so it can play like any regular DDR which is really sweet. As for GH3(Guitar Hero 3)

I also have been getting better. One level at a time I always say. lol

I never really played rhythm games like this before but now that I have I think I'm addicted to them. The next rhythm game I plan to buy is Battle of the Bands which is coming out soon this month. I seen the trailers and it looks really kewl to me. I look forward to buying this title.

Treating myself to games!

Well I know I haven't blogged here in a long time but I have been busy playing with the 4 new games that I bought for myself which I must say is very addictive. To afford them I had finally sold all my Xbox 360 games and some psp games that I don't play with anymore. I bought:

My Sims(Wii)
FF: Crisis Core (PSP)
Call of Duty 4 (again for the PS3)
Patapon (PSP)

I re-bought Call of Duty 4 because I had my first one for the 360(When I had a 360). These games

are so addictive to me that I loose track of time and realize it's the next day lol. I would like to thank developers for Patapon and Final Fantasy: Crisis Core for finaly giving me reason to put my PSP to good use. lol

I know Crisis Core received bad rating but people who are truly Final Fantasy lovers and Fans will have to differ. Personally I don't see anything wrong with this game. I mean sure you can't skip cut scenes but with the graphics so beautiful why would you want to.

PS3 firmware update 2.17 (awww... not what I wanted but yay -_-)

So as soon as I read the title "PS3 update 2.17" and the one sentence out of the paragraph "this morning" I looked at the date it was posted and didn't bother to finish reading the rest and started my PS3 up. As it was downloading and installing I read the rest of the paragraph and I got excited for nothing I guess. The update was to only improve some of the online games. I'm thankful don't get me wrong but I was expecting the "In-game" XMB at least. Me expecting home would seem over the top and would me living in the dream world for it be coming out so soon.

In-Game Communication Coming to PS3 This Summer

Ray Maguire, Sony Computer Entertainment UK’s head, recently spilled the beans on an upcoming feature the PlayStation 3 will be getting – in-game communication. Presumably this means being able to have a private chat with friends while playing a game, similar to what you can do on Xbox Live.

Maguire stated, “Our momentum will continue with the introduction of in-game communication in the summer, firmware update 2.4 and the strongest line-up of games through our third party partners and our own studios.

Now it’s unclear whether or not in-game communication is directly a part of firmware v2.4 or if he was referring to two separate items. Hopefully v2.4 will include in-game XMB support, and that will be what enables you to chat with friends while in-game. I know I’d really like to see support added for the feature, so fingers crossed that this is the case.

Yay! It has been finally set a season! Sure it's not a date but it's something right? Anything closer than fall I am happy with.

I just got my PS3 and I want it badly. For those who don't know this "In-Game XMB(media bar)" is it's a X-bar that shows up in game play and supposed to let us listen to music and read our message just like 360 does during game play. As of now so far we have to quit the games we are playing just to read message, listen to music, look at photos, and etc...

I hope this really does come out soon. Another thing I'm wishing for before my birthday.

In-Game XMB: Sony gets a sense of humour

The single biggest gripe PS3 owners have - CONSTANTLY - is not being able to access the XMB menu while in a game to change settings, chat and send messages and invites (think the 'guide blade' on Xbox 360).

Well, these T-shirts have been spotted at GDC(Game Developers Conference)... and it would seem sony have found it rather amusing.

Is In-Game XMB just days away?

We can but hope!

PLAYSTATION Network Cards Update

If you stopped by one of of the major gaming sites in the last day or so, there’s a good chance you’ve seen one of these stories confirming the existence of PLAYSTATION Network cards, or the debut of such cards in Japan.

We’ve heard the call - usually around the time we update the PLAYSTATION Store - from loyal PS3/PSP owners who’d like to give (or receive) these cards as a gift, and from those who’d like an alternative to using a credit card to purchase things on the PLAYSTATION Store. So here’s an update: Yes, the option many of you have been asking for - PLAYSTATION Network Cards - are coming, and should start appearing at retailers in early ‘08. The cards will be redeemable via the PLAYSTATION Store for PC, and on the PLAYSTATION 3 to supply the wallet with funds to spend on games, add-ons, and other paid content.

We’ll continue to keep you updated here on the PlayStation Blog as their arrival grows nearer.

This was the latest news I found so far on this. This was posted on December 14, 2007. I hope it comes out before my birthday. This will make a perfect gift.

Why Microsoft and Sony should join together for a greater good.

Hardware is outstanding but I really don't see why they shouldn't. Microsoft's software expertise is great but not so much hardware. The PS3 is definitely lacking in software. With these difference why not join together to make a system. It seems silly to compete for the same goal. Games are being on Multi-platform more than ever so why have two systems even out for the same type of game play experience. I found someone who had listed a few reason why they should.

1. Microsoft's Xbox 360 has the most atrocious hardware in consumer electronics history. It's so bad, the company had to extend 360 warranties to three years, spending a billion dollars in the process, just to fix systems that keep breaking on a whim. I've had four systems break in only three years. They're becoming known as a lemon-maker with great games. Meanwhile, Sony makes great hardware but...

2. Sony has the worst software interface in the business. Compared to the Wii, Sony's online friend management and gameplay are an utter mystery, requiring endless navigation of its Byzantine menu structure. Sure, buried inside the PS3 are plenty of amazing "potential technology" features -- like the ability to install Linux, or its wireless connectivity with the PSP -- but who cares? No one needs these features to play games. Even worse, developers can't seem to make games for the PS3, while the 360's development toolkit is a relative stroll in the park.

3. Cost-cutting. The PS3 still costs more to make than it does on store shelves, which has led to $841 million operating loss for Sony's games division as of the end of October 2007. Until it pulls a profit, it's an albatross for all of Sony. Microsoft feels like it's finally gaining ground on Sony, with a library of titles that are superior, and an online interface that is miles better -- not to mention a larger installed base of sales in the U.S -- but they blew a billion dollars to extend the faulty system's warranty to three years. Splitting the cost on a next-gen system might be a wise idea.

4. Big in Japan (kinda). Nintendo dominates in Asia, but at least the PS3 sold nearly two million systems... as opposed to the 360, which has yet to break a million units in Asia after three years on the market. Sony can help Microsoft understand that whole "Asia" thing a lot better. The world gaming market is growing to China, Korea, India -- places where Sony still has clout.

5. And now, for the biggest reason of all: maybe, with two brains put together, they can help each other learn what "fun" means. -Scott Stein
